Y.K.4 Records was built by two artists who refused to wait. Lil Halzz and Simple CD are the co-founders behind one of Edmonton’s most determined independent labels — and both of them are in the trenches as artists, not just executives. This isn’t a label run from the outside. It’s built from the inside, by people who live the music every day.
Lil Halzz — born in Eswatini, based in Edmonton, known as The Canadian Hitman — has been moving with purpose since 2022. Every record is calculated, every step is intentional. His debut album The Firstborn under Y.K.4 is the opening shot of something bigger, proof that the foundation they built is real.
Simple CD is the other half of that foundation. An artist in his own right, he brings his own voice, his own vision, and his own hunger to the table. Co-founding Y.K.4 wasn’t a side move — it was a statement. Two artists building the infrastructure they needed, on their own terms, with no one else calling the shots.
Together, Lil Halzz and Simple CD built Y.K.4 Records as a home for independent artists who want real creative control and real results. No major label. No middleman. Just two founders who know the value of ownership Y.K.4 Records is theirs. Everything coming out of it proves it.
